  1. Your Mom says:

The math geek inside of me is in love with this sketch.

    2.728 and 3.14159, sitting in a tree
    s-q-u-a-r-e root!
First comes division, then comes adding
    Then comes an irrational number…

    Ok, I’ll stop.

  2. Brad says:

Has my vote for worst sketch. And it’s still pretty good

  3. Justin says:

I’m a math teacher in real life. This was hilarious. I’ll be showing this to my students. (Unfortunately, I teach middle school, so they won’t get most of it. Oh well. They can laugh at me, laughing at this.)

  4. Phil says:

Man, I’m in precalculus and all of my (stupid) friends dont understand how good this sketch is. Or how everything corresponds and makes sense.

  5. OE fan says:

Hi guys, i am a huge fan. I havent posted before.

in the thing with the sketch rules, dave asks if 5 is a constant, and ben says its not. 5 is actually a constant. A constant is a # that stays the same and isnt a varialble (x, b,y).

first post (possibly ever) that isnt saying how good the video is!

  6. Dork says:

For some reason, I kept thinking about them hooking up into Euler’s identity.

    God, I’m a dork

  7. Xalon says:

    Awesome, very clever.

  8. Aloha Joe says:

    Good, but a little formulaic.

  9. gollygee says:

im not comfortable with you rounding me to the nearest tenth…

  10. Max.... yes I have a dogs name says:

    good one

    but you need a backround

  11. Chris D says:

Probably the most narrowly targeted humor ever. Good show.

  12. dave says:

i understand how bill evans’ intro to ’round midnight fit the mood you were trying to set – out of context it _is_ a little spooky sounding – but for those familiar with the tune (myself included) the expectation of that which normally follows makes it more of a stretch, i.e., i expect a gorgeously beautiful moment to follow. in the end though, i doubt anyone is listening to the drivel which pours forth from my keyboard… does that make this a conversation with myself?

    also, i enjoyed the video.

  13. Chris says:

I like it so much I think I might edit and comment on it. Bravo for having it under a CC license.

  14. olivia says:

i love this!! its a great comedy and made me laugh. buy i want there to be another episode!!!

  15. Cameron says:

Was her date with -1 and then she squarerooted it to kill him?

If so that is freaking funny.
    That and:
“Your only 2.7 you could stand to put a little meat on those bones.”
“I’m not comfortable with you rounding me to the nearest tenth…”

    good times, good times…

  16. Justin says:

Hey guys, I’m a huge fan of all of your work, but this one is by far my favorite. Maybe it’s the inner math dork, who knows, but it made me laugh. Too bad when I showed it to my friends they just gave me an awkward look :(

  17. Itocalc says:

When e says “you don’t even exist” she should say “you’re not even real.” Otherwise funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.

  18. Lin says:

This was my first OE sketch…

“I’m not comfortable with you rounding me to the nearest tenth”

    Greatest sketch evar!

  19. Dave #2 says:

amazing video, I really got a kick out of!

  20. Nadine says:

im going to show my math teacher this in Algebra 2.

hes going to crack up laughing and give me extra credit.

thanks for bettering my graes and giving great comedy. :)

  21. Catoldo says:

is anyone else turned on by pi. I guess I just have a thing for greeks.

  22. dotslash says:

omg Dork … I was thinking exactly the same thing

  23. TheNunOwnedGoat says:

The ONE thing that I don’t understand about this video is why they laugh hysterically when Pi goes “Good things I hope!”

Other than that… THIS VIDEO IS LITERALLY AMAZING. It’s witty and hilarious and I keep watching it over and over again.

I do plan on burning it to a disc and giving it to my Algebra II teacher one of these days…

    Great work.

  24. noueux says:

This is a sick, incestuous video. Why is e going on a date with pi when they’re related?

  25. Sara says:

I love how the icon is from “The Life of Pi.”
    …and everything everybody else said.

  26. B Lane says:

I enjoyed i being imaginary. Cause…it is. Yeah…Well it was pretty funny.

  27. Funky_cheese_sniffer says:

HAHAHAHAHAHA I FEEL EVIL AND D-licious

  28. Ms. G says:

I am sooooooooo showing this to my Trig students :)

  29. RaynMan says:

This would be hilarious if i knew calculus

  30. Alymicy says:

Lol, your icon is from the cover of “Life of Pi”

  31. Math Nazi says:

I hate to be the Math Nazi, but
@RaynMan, calculus isn’t required for any of there jokes, proving e^(pi*i)=-1 requires some though.
    @Your mom, e = 2.718… not 2.728.
    @Itocalc, good point.

I wonder if deeper in e’s imagination is -i since both i^2 and (-i)^2=-1

  32. Rosy at random says:

I was convinced that e^i*pi=-1 thing would show up. Oh well…..

  33. Chris says:

My first Olde English sketch. Good times. good times.

  34. wowowowowowow says:
